How to make your Computer Welcome you?

This is one of the simplest tricks and one which we see in movies etc where someone turns on their computer and the Computer greets them by a custom Voice message welcoming them to their PC.

So this is a very easy trick and I'm gonna show you how you can apply this on your Computers. This trick works with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

This trick does not require any third party softwares, rather windows itself provides this feature.. So you do not have to worry about your system space, a virus or any other added problems.

So just follow these steps and the Windows will greet you everytime you turn on your PC.

Steps for a customized Welcome Message:

1- First open a notepad document [You can do this by going to Start>Programs>Accessories>Notepad or You can right click on your desktop and go to new and create a new text document or you can simply press Windows+R key and type notepad to open a new text document]

2- In the new notepad you need to paste the Following code:

Dim speaks, speech
speaks="Hello User, Welcome to your Computer.. Have a nice day!"
Set speech=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
speech.Speak speaks

[Replace the User with your Name, and you can also customize the entire message by replacing the entire message in the quotes with your own]

3- Now go to the File Tab on the top left corner and click on Save As.. Save the file as Welcome.vbs

4- Copy the Welcome.vbs file and paste it at C:/Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/StartUp [For Windows 7, Windows, 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Vista]

Or C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Start Up [For Windows XP]

Note:[username] is the user name of your PC, C:/ is the default drive.. If your windows is installed in any other drive make sure you retype the path and navigate accordingly.

Note: AppData is generally a hidden folder so you would need to make sure you have the show all hidden files and folders enabled.

If you still somehow cannot reach the path just press windows+R and type Shell:Startup and you will reach the desired path right away.

5- Paste the Welcome.vbs file here.

6- Turn off your PC and restart it.. you will get a customized Welcome message that you just set.

In case you want to make any changes to the file you can just edit the file in notepad and double click it and it will give you a demo on how the custom text will sound. SO you can basically work that out according to your need.

Note- If you still face any problem make sure you re check the above steps and make sure you haven't missed any of them and this would work just fine.. You can comment here if you are facing any problems and i would be happy to help.
